Dear Ambassadors, dear members of the diplomatic corps, dear participants of the event!
First of all, I would like to thank you all for being here with us at the premises of the Rade Končar factory, which has been providing support and assistance throughout the ongoing russia’s war against Ukraine. We have gathered here today to send a generator to Ukraine, purchased with donations from members of the diplomatic corps in the Republic of North Macedonia.
Today is the 1,485th day since Ukraine has been living under the conditions of the unprovoked full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our state. Since the beginning of this war, Russia has been systematically striking Ukrainian civilian and energy infrastructure. These attacks are directed not only against infrastructure facilities — they are directed against the everyday life of millions of people: against the ability to live, work, receive medical care, and raise children in safety.
This winter was one of the most difficult since the beginning of the full-scale war. During the coldest days, Russian attacks were particularly cynical: strikes on the energy system aimed to leave entire cities and communities without electricity, heat, and water. Such actions threaten not only basic living conditions, but also the lives of civilians — especially those who need medical care.
In these conditions, hospitals become especially vulnerable. Medical care cannot wait. Surgeries, intensive care and emergency treatment require a stable power supply.
We are deeply grateful to the representatives of the United Kingdom, Austria, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the European Union for their valuable contribution.
Thanks to you we are able to transfer this powerful diesel generator to the National Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery and Hereditary Pathology named after Amosov, purchased with funds collected within the framework of the charitable initiative #WarmthForUkraine, born in Poland. We were able to implement this initiative also thanks to Caritas in North Macedonia, the CivilMedia platform and the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in North Macedonia.
I want to emphasise that your aid will reach exactly where it is needed most — to a place where people fight for human lives every single day. The Amosov National Scientific Centre is a place where every minute counts, where the light must always be on. You always feel the value of your contribution, of your involvement in a noble cause — when your help saves lives, gives someone a chance to survive, and brings light and hope.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the diplomatic corps and to everyone who, through their contributions, has supported life and the struggle for it.
This entire initiative and these donations are about life. But as long as there is an aggressor that does not abandon its intentions to commit genocide by carrying out daily missile and drone attacks against people and infrastructure of Ukraine, we must continue to exert pressure on the aggressor state, implementing new sanctions and applying existing ones, and force the Kremlin to end the war that deprives people of their lives.
Thank you once again for your support. Thank you for standing with Ukraine. We deeply appreciate it.
