Ukraine can facilitate the development of relations between Belarus and the EU countries within the Eastern partnership, as state by President Petro Poroshenko. "We are interested in supporting Belarus in the context of developing relations within the Eastern partnership if it considers it possible ," the Head of State noted in the course of the negotiations between the delegations of the two countries in expanded format.
It goes about the mechanism of mutually beneficial use of technologies, legislation, financial resources at various levels of partnership. "From integrated governance to energy efficiency. We have achieved significant success in this sphere," Petro Poroshenko said.
The delegations of the two countries have discussed a series of issues of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus, particularly in the context of fuel-energy, security, interregional and machine-building cooperation.
"We have achieved the increase of trade turnover with Belarus. I would like to assure that Ukraine is interested in developing trade, economic, political and security relations with Belarus," the President has noted.
In his turn, Alexander Lukashenko has emphasized that Belarus would be a reliable and fair partner of Ukraine in political and economic issues. "We are absolutely transparent. You can fully count on us," he said.
The parties have achieved the agreement on informational cooperation. It goes about the broadcast of one Ukrainian TV channel in Belarus for the objective coverage of events in Ukraine.
